Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey 2026: Prices and Per Graft

What a hair transplant costs in Turkey, what it works out at per graft, what the package includes and how Istanbul, Antalya and Izmir compare.

Mymeditravel

Updated September 2026. Prices in this guide come from the starting prices clinics list on MyMediTravel, converted to US dollars. Each range runs from the lower quarter to the upper quarter of those listings, so the cheapest and most expensive outliers are left out.

Turkey is the world's best-known destination for hair transplants, and Istanbul alone has more hair clinics than most countries. The attraction is price: a hair transplant that costs several thousand dollars in the US, UK or Western Europe is usually sold in Turkey as a single fixed-price package.

The short answer: a hair transplant in Turkey typically costs $1,350 to $1,950, with a median of $1,600. That is the middle half of the starting prices published by the 88 clinics that list a price on MyMediTravel, out of 151 hair transplant clinics we list in Turkey. The lowest start at $800, and 64 of the 88 sit between $1,000 and $2,000. The price is normally an all-inclusive package for one session: the procedure, two or three hotel nights, transfers and medication, but not flights.

This guide covers what that price includes, what it works out at per graft, how costs compare by city and with other countries, how the main techniques differ, and how to choose a clinic.

Beard transplant$1,100 to $2,050$1,65036
Eyebrow transplant$1,100 to $2,000$1,55042

Across the 88 hair transplant listings with a price, starting prices run from $800 to $6,141. The higher prices tend to come from clinics where a doctor, rather than technicians, performs the extraction and implantation, or which use DHI or sapphire blades as standard.

Malaysia$1,100 to $2,5006
Mexico$2,450 to $3,3506
Thailand$3,150 to $5,65019

Turkey is not always the cheapest single quote, but no other country combines prices this low with anything like the same number of clinics to choose from.

What the price usually includes

Most clinics in Turkey quote one price for the whole procedure rather than charging per graft, and many sell it as a package. A typical package can include:

  • the consultation and the procedure itself, under local anaesthetic
  • blood tests before the procedure
  • two or three nights in a hotel
  • transfers between the airport, hotel and clinic
  • medicines, shampoo and lotions for the first weeks
  • the first hair wash at the clinic, usually the day after
  • an interpreter

Packages vary, so check in writing what yours covers. Flights are not normally included. The most important question is how many grafts the price includes: a quote for "unlimited" or "maximum" grafts still depends on how many your donor area can safely give, which only an examination can tell.

Cost per graft

Clinics in Turkey rarely publish a price per graft. They sell a session, usually described as "maximum grafts" or "up to" a set number, and the surgeon takes as many grafts as your donor area can safely give in one sitting. At most clinics the package price stays the same however many grafts that turns out to be.

We checked the listings of all 88 clinics in Turkey that publish a hair transplant price on MyMediTravel. Only one states a graft number next to a price: an all-inclusive FUE package of 4,000 to 5,000 grafts for €1,990, which would work out at €0.40 to €0.50 a graft if the full number were transplanted. Two listings, that one included, say outright that the price does not depend on the number of grafts, and others describe their package as "maximum grafts". One listing is not enough to give a fair typical price per graft, so we do not publish one.

How to compare quotes per graft

  • Get the planned number in writing. Ask each clinic how many grafts it plans for you once it has seen photos of your scalp from the front, top, sides and back.
  • Divide by the planned number, not the maximum. Divide the package price by the grafts planned for you, not by the "up to" figure in the advert. A cheaper package planned for fewer grafts can cost more per graft than a dearer one planned for more.
  • Compare like with like. Check the technique (FUE, sapphire FUE or DHI), who extracts and implants the grafts, the hotel nights and transfers, and the aftercare each quote includes.
  • Ask about the final count. Ask what happens if your donor area gives fewer grafts than planned, and whether the clinic will tell you how many grafts were actually transplanted.

A low price per graft is not the goal in itself. Grafts only count if they survive, and that depends largely on how carefully they are removed, stored and placed, which comes back to who does the work.

Compare clinics by city

Prices are much the same in Istanbul, Antalya and Izmir, so choose by clinic and surgeon first and by city second. Each city links to its full list of clinics with their own prices, or you can compare all 151 hair transplant clinics in Turkey on one page.

CityClinics listedClinics listing a priceTypical starting priceMedian
Istanbul10462$1,400 to $2,000$1,600
Antalya1612$1,350 to $1,900$1,650
Izmir1911$1,350 to $1,850$1,550
  • Istanbul has most of the choice, every large hospital group and most of the surgeon-led clinics, so it is the easiest place to compare surgeons in person.
  • Antalya clinics mostly package the procedure with a resort hotel, which suits patients who want a longer, quieter stay by the coast.
  • Izmir has a shorter list, including some of the lowest starting prices in Turkey.

The capital, Ankara, has 10 hair transplant listings, 3 of them with a published price.

FUE, DHI and sapphire FUE

  • FUE (follicular unit extraction) removes hair follicles one by one from the back and sides of the head and places them into small incisions in the thinning area. It is the standard technique in Turkey.
  • Sapphire FUE is FUE with the incisions made using sapphire blades rather than steel ones. Clinics say this gives finer incisions and faster healing, and it usually costs a little more.
  • DHI (direct hair implantation) uses a pen-shaped implanter to place each follicle without opening the incisions first. It suits denser packing in smaller areas and is usually the most expensive option.

The technique matters less than who performs the procedure and how carefully it is planned. A well-planned FUE by an experienced team will usually give a better result than a rushed DHI.

How to choose a clinic

  • Ask who does each step. In some high-volume clinics technicians, not the surgeon, remove and implant the grafts. Ask for the name of the doctor who will plan and perform your procedure, and how much of it they do in person.
  • Ask how many patients the clinic treats a day. A team working on one or two patients a day can give each one more time than a team working on eight.
  • Look at results for hair loss like yours. Ask for before and after photos, taken at least a year after the procedure, of patients with a similar pattern and stage of hair loss.
  • Check qualifications and memberships, such as the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), and read patient reviews. Of the 151 hair transplant listings in Turkey on MyMediTravel, 12 show ISHRS membership and 27 show JCI accreditation, which for a clinic usually refers to the hospital it operates in.
  • Get a written quote stating the technique, the number of grafts, who performs the procedure, what the package includes and what happens if you need a touch-up.

Planning the trip and recovery

Most patients stay in Turkey for three or four days. The procedure usually takes most of a day, the clinic checks and washes the treated area the next day, and you can normally fly home after that. Once home:

  • small scabs form around the grafts and usually fall away within about two weeks;
  • much of the transplanted hair falls out in the first weeks, which is normal;
  • new hair usually starts to grow after three to four months, and the full result takes around a year to show;
  • follow your surgeon's advice on washing, sleeping position, sun, swimming and exercise for the first weeks.

Our guide to aftercare, insurance and paying for treatment abroad covers what to arrange before you travel and after you get home.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a hair transplant cost per graft in Turkey?

Most clinics in Turkey do not charge per graft. They quote a package for one session, and only one of the 88 priced listings on MyMediTravel states a graft number next to its price, so there is no reliable typical figure. To compare quotes, divide each package price by the number of grafts the clinic plans for you in writing.

Does a 4,000-graft hair transplant cost more in Turkey?

At most clinics, no. The package is priced per session, often for "maximum grafts", so the price does not change with the number of grafts the surgeon takes. Not every clinic works this way, so confirm in writing that your price will not change with the graft count.

Is a hair transplant cheaper in Istanbul, Antalya or Izmir?

Not by much. The typical starting price is $1,400 to $2,000 in Istanbul, $1,350 to $1,900 in Antalya and $1,350 to $1,850 in Izmir. Istanbul has far more clinics to choose from.

Why is a hair transplant so cheap in Turkey?

Clinics in Turkey have lower staff and running costs than clinics in the US or Western Europe, they compete hard with each other for international patients, and many treat large numbers of patients, which brings the cost per procedure down.

Is a hair transplant in Turkey safe?

Many patients have successful procedures in Turkey, but standards vary widely between clinics. The biggest risks come from clinics that treat too many patients a day or leave the procedure to unsupervised technicians. Choosing the clinic carefully matters more than the price.

How many grafts will I need?

It depends on how much hair you have lost, the area to be covered and the density of your donor hair. A clinic can only give you a reliable number after examining your scalp, even if you send photos first for an estimate.

Do I need a second procedure?

Some patients choose a second session later, either because their hair loss continues or to add density. Ask the clinic before you book whether it offers touch-ups and what they cost.
