I visited Dr. Tabash in November and he did an amazing job! I had 9-10-11-2 removed, bone graft, gum graft, and implants installed on 9-10-11. I had to wait for number 2 because there was heavy bone loss. Dr. Tabash was able to do all procedures quickly with very minimal pain. Almost could not tell what stage in the procedure he was in and before I knew it, he was done. I had a minor issue, but he was on call and took me in right away. It has been 7 months now, and with the recent coronavirus I was forced to go to a local dentistry. They applauded the job that Dr. Tabash did and was able to continue the work locally. Dr. Tabash used standard implants, so my local dentist had no issue ordering the abutment. The bone graft and the gum graft are perfect, and I did not have to undergo that procedure again.I wish I could continue the procedure with Dr. Tabash because he has saved me a lot of money. Maybe in the future! Thanks again
Dr. Del was absolutely wonderful. His knowledge of dentistry along with his caring and compassionate demeanor is second to none. Due to cancer treatments my teeth were in pretty bad shape. He did a full mouth restoration, crowns and two bridges and my smile is better than ever. Many, many thanks to him and his team!
I just thought it might help others if I posted my experience with Dr. Obando and Nova Dental in Escazu, Costa Rica. I selected Dr. Obando after extensively researching implant dentists. I found Dr. Obando's credentials and testimonies to be exceptional. In 2017, I had a full upper arch implanted and can only say that the procedure was a life changing event. The implants improved the quality of my life and are more comfortable than what my original teeth were before the procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Obando not only for his skills and professional manner but for also being an all around good guy that would be hard not to like.
The place is extremely nice and clean. The doctor is very kind and does an excellent job, his assistant has an excellent treatment for the patient and is very professional.
Flew from L.A. to get six veneers after doing my homework. Excellent choice! Amazing work, staff and experience! The communication was superb and everything went according to agenda. Highly recommend Dr. Kaver and his team, and look forward to going back this year for the bottoms.
On a referral from a friend, I went to have an evaluation done with Dr. Bonilla. Really was a great decision and I am very happy with the work done. Very professional bi-lingual staff, state-of-the-art equipment and very competitive prices. They did in less than 2 weeks what would have taken 2 months in the USA and at a much lower cost. But don't let the great prices fool you. The work I had done and was top quality and I now have a smile that I am not afraid to show off!
I could have had my chipped veneer (my fault: no fault of Cleo Dental’s workmanship) repaired here in Boston ($1,200) but I felt better having Dr Juliana Castro Lapeira, who made them last year, take care of it.I was surprised when she texted that there would be “no charge for the repair”.They set up my appointment around my schedule and picked me up at the airport. The new veneer was created in their state-of-the-art lab the same day.I’m so grateful for the implants, crowns and veneers they’ve created for me for over the past seven years. My dental hygienist will be going down for dental implants. Even with her dental discount, she can’t afford them here in Massachusetts. She told me, “I've been telling everyone that I’ve seen their work first hand, and how great it looked.”I initially went to Cost Rica because implants were 50% less. Now, I won't go to a local dentist except for cleanings. My insurance company listed Dr Anglada as one of the top three international dentists. The quality of care is amazing. They all work together and take pride in their work.I’ve saved hundreds even after air fare, hotel, day tours: horseback riding, the rain forest, volcanoes, La Paz Waterfall Gardens. I'm always proud to recommend them!

Dental implant surgery is a procedure to replace damaged or missing teeth using artificial teeth that function and look much like real ones. The implant acts as a replacement for the root of a missing or damaged tooth, which in turn serves to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implant surgery is considered as a better alternative to dentures or bridgework that does not fit well. It also offers a great option for people when they do not have enough natural teeth roots left to build denture or bridgework replacements.
Since dental implants eventually fuse with your jawbone over the span of several months, it won’t make noise, slip, or cause bone damage the way dentures or bridgework might. Dental implants also enable natural speech, look and feel like your own teeth, make eating easier, and improves your appearance. However, the surgery may involve several stages, and, in some cases, it may require two separate visits to the clinic to complete.
Dental implant surgery generally requires several stages. Each stage may be performed under general or local anesthetic. The first stage is removing the damaged tooth. Then, if your jawbone is too soft or not thick enough, your dentist may perform bone grafting to create a more solid base for the implant. The bone graft may be natural (taken from another part of your body) or synthetic (a bone-substitute material). If you only need minor bone grafting, the implant surgery can be performed on the same day. However, if you need a significant amount of bone graft, the implant surgery may have to be postponed until the transplanted bone grows enough new bone to support the dental implant.
The next stage after the damaged tooth removal and bone graft (if you need one) is placing the dental implant. To do this, your dentist makes an incision to expose the bone and puts the metal implant post deep into the bone. At this stage, you will still have a gap where your tooth is missing. Your dentist will place a temporary denture for appearance. Once the metal implant post is placed, osseointegration begins. This is a process where the jawbone grows into the surface of the implant and can take several months to complete. After osseointegration complete, your dentist will place the abutment, which is a small connector post that will hold your new tooth. The final stage, after the abutment is placed, is placing the crown, which is the tooth-looking part. You can choose between a removable crown and a fixed crown.
Each stage of dental implant surgery is done in separate appointments. After each appointment, you should be able to leave the hospital or clinic right away. However, you should stay in Calle los Almendros for at least 2 weeks for completion of the work and the initial recovery and follow-up checkups.
There is no specific recovery timeline for dental implant surgery as it depends on your unique condition. In general, you need to rest as much as possible for a couple of days following each appointment. When the whole procedure is finished and the permanent crown is placed, it may take several weeks to get used to the feel and shape of the implant.
After each stage of surgery, you may have to eat soft foods. Since you may experience swelling, bruising, pain, and minor bleeding, your dentist will prescribe pain medications or antibiotics to help ease your discomfort. During your recovery period, you need to avoid smoking as it can contribute to implant failure and complications.
No special care is required for dental implants. Nonetheless, you need to practice good oral hygiene in order to maintain the implant and your remaining natural teeth. Make sure to brush your teeth twice a day, floss daily, and rinse your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash. You also need to see your dentist regularly and avoid damaging habits, such as chewing hard items.
Most dental implants are successful. The success rate of dental implant surgery is as high as 95%. However, you do need to follow your dentist’s instructions and care for your oral hygiene properly to maintain positive results.
It is also important to note that risks of complications and side effects are possible, which may include implant failure, nerve injury, infection, sinus problems, as well as damage to surrounding structures, such as other teeth or blood vessels.
If you are not a candidate for dental implant surgery, or you simply do not want to undergo the procedure, you can opt for the alternatives. The alternatives include:
