I understand why this hospital is considered the best in Thailand. Traveled all the way from Australia to get my treatment here after I heard good things about it. Superb staff, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Many of the staff can speak English, so communication is not a problem. I asked many questions and told them my concerns, and they answered patiently and put me at ease. Had to stay for several days after my treatment. The room was super clean, well-designed, and definitely made me feel comfortable. The nurses checked on me every hour or so, and the food was surprisingly great. Though having to stay in a hospital is never a good experience, I would say my time in Bumrungrad was a pleasant one. A bit pricey when compared to other hospitals around the area, but with the quality service and high-level care offered, it was all worth it.

I have used the Bumrungrad hospital for twenty years, and have been generally pleased, but recently I had a work medical there and didn’t realise that they had entered a wrong end date, which will prevent me from working until this is resolved. I have asked for a replacement, through endless “online chats” and emails, and have now been told, that I will be charged 3,000 plus baht, to send me out a new and accurate certificate. Nearly the cost of the original medical. As the mistake was made by the Bumrungrad, at least they could do would be to rectify their mistake at no expense to myself, but clearly that is not their approach, further more I am expected to re validate my identity, using several prescribed documents, prior to any mailing. It would be nice to be treated in an honourable way, and with a modicum of respect, but I don’t hold out much hope!! 01/09/20, just an update on this story, the Bumrungrad have now rectified the problem and I have received a new OG certificate with the correct date, so a thank to all involved in finally resolving this for me.

Nurses don't speak polite ALWAYS i hope they have service training. When i make appointment, nurse called me to confirm the appointment. I asked the another time slot and she keeps repeating she has another patient in that time which she doesn't listened to me well, she says what she want to say. The way of the nurse was not so polite always.. When i meet nurses at hospital, i feel not happy and my husband also feels same. I strongly recommend to go to Samitivej hospital they give nice service.I paid for vaccination package, i called the nurse to check how many vaccination i have left within package, she checked and said i need to bring my book and checked with doctor. Sigh... I dont know why she cant check with the system and i have to visit hospital for this small question. I think its language problem or service issue...

What you need to know about Cancer Staging in Bangkok
Cancer Staging is a medical procedure / surgery that requires coordination between specialist surgeons, anaesthetists and various other specialist medical professionals. This type of Oncology procedure / treatment can be particularly expensive given the extent of everything involved, for example, the skill level, training and experience required of the specialists and even the high-tech equipment being used in the operating theatre. For Cancer Staging, medical records, reports or any supporting documents may be required for the specialist to assess prior to the treatment.

As with any major surgery, recovery can vary according to the individual. Your immediate recovery can be affected by various factors like the sedation (anesthetic) type and how long you're sedated for, but you should expect to spend some time recovering in the ward before being discharged. Then you should expect to rest for a few more days before you begin to commence light activity again - remember, Cancer Staging is a major surgery and your body needs time to recover. As for aftercare, it's crucial that you follow the surgeon's advice and adhere to the prescribed medication plan. You'll also be advised about diet, how to care for and treat the wounds and how to recognize possible signs of infection.

It's likely you'll be advised by the medical team to stay in Bangkok for up to two weeks after your surgery, this will allow for enough time for your wounds to heal and have stitches removed, if required. The surgeon will expect to see you for at least one or two post-op consultations before giving the all clear to travel home again. The success rate for Cancer Staging in Bangkok is now extremely high given the recent advances in medical technology and surgeon experience. However, with any surgery, there is always the possibility of complications, such as infection, bleeding, numbness, swelling and scar tissue. But if you rest post-op and follow the surgeon's recovery advice, you can expect to reduce these odds close to zero.
