I'm writing from a room in the surgical floor a few hours after laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. Actually, it's a treatment room, but I'm here for unknown reasons — because, like everything since I got here this morning, I have received absolutely no information as to my condition or what's going on.I took the last minute surgery slot two weeks ago and figured that it would be good to get recovery done over the hagim (Jewish holidays) when the country is mostly off work. It's possible that some things slipped through the cracks for that reason. But in any event:The day got off to a bad start because I was apparently missing a second authorization from my health fund (who knew you need one for both the appointment and the surgery!). A wild goose chase ensued. NOTHING was correctly signposted and the only way to find out which office I needed to get to was to repeatedly ask the staff — who often gave conflicting information. At one point, we were sent to four offices in two buildings just to hand in a bit of paper.The pre-op was the best part of the day and the doctor that took my vitals and the anesthesiologist were both absolutely lovely. I asked for a sedative from three different people as this was my first surgery and I was freaking out to put it mildly (tip: don't watch a YouTube vid of the surgery the night before you go in!). Amazingly clean and well run hospital. Visited three times. Before, during and after a friend's surgery. The pre op visit was efficient and informative. The surgery was accomplished expeditiously and the patient could be visited in the recovery room. The two bed room was modern and we'll furnished. Discharge smooth and timely. The mall attached to the hospital made things even easier.

My mother was in this hospital for a short amount of time. The experience and the staff are absolutely horrible. They don't pay any attention, most of them are walking around talking about non-sense when the patients are suffering. It blows my mind how a hospital in Israel, of all the places, has absolutely no heart for the patients. We met two nurses there that took very good care of my mother, but the rest of the staff even the top nurse didn't care. This left my family and I with a very bad experience. I'm going to make sure I inform the public about what is going on at Hadassah.
