About Mexico

Mexico is located in the southern portion of North America. With jungles, amazing beaches, breathtaking ancient ruins, lively cities, and delightful chili-spiced cuisine, it’s no wonder that the country attracts more than 30 million people every year. Mexico is a booming medical tourism destination and one of the main reasons is the price of a procedure in the country can cost 70% to 80% less when compared to the United States. The country is a perfect combination of excellent medical centers, modern equipment, and well-trained doctors. A large number of medical tourists visit from the United States and Canada since the distance is not far and there are frequent flights between these countries. Some of the more popular procedures are dental treatments, cosmetic surgery, and bariatric surgery

Popular Cities and Regions

Every region in Mexico is unique and diverse, with Mexico City as the capital of the country that offers an incredible culinary scene and charming museums. The largest resort city in the country is Cancun, which is known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise water, wild parties, and fascinating Maya culture. Tourists who want to learn more about the Maya people should visit the Chichen Itza, near Cancun, a ruined ancient Maya city that dates back to 550 AD. Another interesting city that tourists should add to their itinerary is Guadalajara as it is known to be the root of mariachi music, sombreros, charreadas, and the Mexican hat dance.

Transport

The busiest airport in Mexico is Mexico City International Airport and thirty domestic and international passenger airlines serve this airport. Aeromexico is the largest airline that operates flights to more than seventy destinations. To travel around the country, the fastest and cheapest option is to fly with budget airlines, such as Interjet and VivaAerobus. Taxis are easy to find in most cities and the best way to hail a taxi is to use taxis from Taxi Ranks.

Visas

All visitors need to obtain a visa which is valid for six months and must be used within 90 days of issue. Nationals from 67 countries, including the US, Latin America, and the EU, do not require a visa to enter the country and can stay for a period of 30 to 180 days. Other foreign nationals, such as China, India, and Russia, need to obtain a visa before entering Mexico.

Weather

Mexico has a diverse climate. In general, there are two major seasons. The rainy season is from May to September. The weather is hot and humid with a lot of rainy days. The dry season starts from October to April. There is hardly any rain during this season, but the coastal region will experience cold weather from December to February.
