It is a well known hospital. Underground food court restaurants are also delicious. It's always a busy place to go.
Ildiko H., 21 February 2022
There's an international services department with medical professionals and interpreters (English, Arabic, Russian, Chinese). Besides this, everyone is polite and speaks at least some English. Everything is modern, and the appointment desk and the pharmacy are straightforward. There are all kinds of departments possible, I've never had to wait more than 5 mins. And there's a shuttle bus from Irwon station.
Irene L., 04 January 2021
Worst hospital in Seoul, don't be fooled by it's fancy buildings and status of it's name. My husband's experience as US citizen..... He and other patients were treated like herds of cows. We made the appointment for a full physical checkup a month prior to the the date of the actual physical. All the Dr's were very unprofessional, snooty, and impersonal. I learned in Seoul it's ideal to go to one of the the smaller hospitals to get treated like a human being. Samsung hospital is all about business and getting patients in and out soon as possible. Samsung refrigerators, televisions is a yes... But definitely not their hospitals and Doctors.

Everything was at the highest level, with Dr. Man Gong So who operated on my golden hands, and special thanks to the Russian-speaking coordinator Aike!

It's been six months since I had my combination breast augmentation surgery. I had my consultation with Dr. Seul at JW Plastic Surgery in Seoul, Korea. A few days prior to the surgery date I had my vitals taken to ensure I was healthy enough for surgery. Really nice they take the extra precautions. I had a TON of questions and my consultant, Jenny, along with Dr. Seul, was gracious in answering every single one of them during my consultation, pre-surgery vital check, and via email. I wasn't nervous the morning of surgery as everyone was very communicative and gave me all the details of "what was happening next". Dr. Seul drew the surgery lines on my body himself and he was very good at explaining to me what was planned for my personalized combination breast augmentation. My follow-up appointments were anywhere from a few times the week of the surgery, weekly, monthly, then depending on how they were healing, were adjusted appropriately. Every single appointment I was seen by Dr. Seul himself! I was really happy he was able to see my progress himself to give me my tailored recovery aftercare. Overall, I'm really happy with the results! I was in good hands with my surgery and I can't recommend enough JW Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Francis Ian R., 13 March 2023
I am very satisfied with the procedure I had done by DR. CHUL. I was worried about some post op complications but he was very professional and I trusted him completely. The staff here were very accommodating and understanding. Special thanks to Tina! would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested.

I did Rhinoplasty, ear surgery and lower blepharoplasty at BK, staff are very friendly and spoke English.
Bella H., 27 March 2022
I’ve been to Seoul a few times and always to BK hospital! They have English speaking staff, and are very prompt in their replies. From end to end, airport pick up or hospitalisation can be arranged. Also, they do thorough health checks and scans needed required for the procedure. Dr Kim Byung Gun and his team have many accolades and awards and his attention to detail is impeccacable! Highly recommend! His surgery skills are commendable!

Here. I have been consulted by Lee Byeong-joon for 3 years and I have been practicing to Rihuran Healer 3. I felt that I was very careful in counseling as well as when I was practicing.I was a little sick but I could bear it. I am very satisfied with the result of the third car.

Had nose surgery with Dr. jae Hoon Kim at April31 Clinic and he botched my nose, over-resected my alars, and caused my nose to collapse; then he refused to take responsibility for it. Please visit tpf and search "April 31", he has botched many patients of all nationalities and when botched patients return to the clinic to complain- he avoids all responsibility and so do the other staff, DO NOT go to this doctor. There are many clinics in Korea with competent and ethical surgeons, Jae Hoon Kim is not one of them.
Alice W., 16 March 2023
Extremely expensive.... now with a botched nose
Cherry N., 10 December 2022
Christy was simply amazing and very helpful. Her English is exceptional and she was extremely friendly which really helped me with my anxiety. My case was difficult as my previous Rhinoplasty was infected and got really bad and I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to get my normal nose back. However, Dr Kim was a true professional and he was honest with me that he would only be able to fix about 80%. To be honest I was disappointed hearing that but in the end I’d rather have a doctor who is upfront with me about what he can and cannot do than making false promises. I am now more than half a year post op ( 8 months) and the nose is shaping up alright! Albeit the parts where he couldn’t fix still bothers me a lot but all in all I’m glad to have a normal life back. Thank you Dr Kim, Christy, and all the staff at April 31!

Hi guys, I feel like not many people on here mentioned VG Plastic Surgery ( maybe because the place is not heavily promoted in foreigners).I’ve been silently considering my revision rhinoplasty because I’ve never been satisfied with my primary rhinoplasty. It always felt like a really big decision to make but I constantly got annoyed at my nose. I hated taking pictures from the front because of my uneven nose ( kind like collapsed the left side of the nose).I found out about VG plastic surgery by chance while I read the reviews on the Purseforum blog, someone has mentioned the name of VG. I stumbled across a video on YouTube and Instagram. I liked the whole feeling of the hospital so I contacted them. They do 1:1 online consultation which was nice. The English consultant Julia, she is the one who assisted me and arranged for me to get a direct online consultation with Dr.Im Young Min ( CEO of VG and specialized in revision rhinoplasty ). She worked tirelessly to help me when I was doing online consultation and in-person consultation in Korea, to just before and all throughout after my surgery. She was always making herself available to me either in person at the clinic or online via LINE. She's probably one of the busiest employees at the clinic as she handles all of the English speakings foreign patients. I really appreciate her.Dr.Im Young Min is really good with rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, and alarplasty ( has natural & dolly looking results). Dr.Im seemed profession

Really beautiful 3 points of surgery here. Believe in the skill of the doctor. What kind of order you can really order. The best start. Good advice. Where can do? Where can not? To be honest, if you don't sell things, there is still a chance that you will still use the service.Friendly interpreter Easy to explain, good serviceThe hospital staff are friendly. Smile to welcome every customer, every country

Everything you'll need to know about Nose Surgery in South Korea

Nose surgery is an individualized surgery. Before the surgery, you will need to discuss important factors with your surgeon to determine if it is suitable for you. Your surgeon will review your medical history, including your previous surgeries, medical conditions, and any medications you are taking. You will need to have a complete physical examination, such as blood tests. Your surgeon will also consider your other facial features, the skin on your nose, and what you would like to change or correct. Then, your surgeon will develop a customized plan for you. Two weeks before and after surgery, avoid any medications that contain aspirin or ibuprofen, such as Advil and Motrin IB because these medications can increase bleeding. You will need to also stop taking herbal remedies and over-the-counter supplements. If you are an active smoker, stop smoking because smoking can slow your healing process and increase the risk of getting an infection.

During the actual surgery, you will be given either local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The type of anesthesia depends on how complex the surgery is and what the surgeon would prefer to use. Then, the surgery will start by making incisions inside your nose or at the base of your nose between your nostrils. Your surgeon will reshape the inner bone and cartilage underneath your skin to make a more pleasing appearance.

If everything goes well, you can go back to your hotel on the same day once the effects of anesthesia wear off. However, you will need to stay in a recovery room for a few hours so the staff can monitor you. Some people may need to stay in hospital overnight. After you are discharged from the hospital, you will need to stay in South Korea for at least 10 to 14 days for initial recovery, follow-up checkups, and for the stitches to be removed.

The recovery period for nose surgery can be different from person to person. In general, 2 to 3 weeks is needed until you can get back to your full normal routine and 3 to 6 weeks until you can do any strenuous activity. However, you should be able to go back to work within a week, except if your job requires strenuous physical activity. You will feel gradually better each day in the first week. You will experience swelling, which can take six months to subside. The only people who will notice the swelling is you and your surgeon. Your final nose shape will be apparent after it is completely healed.

After the surgery, you may need to wear a nasal splint for the first week. The splint is used to protect and support your nose. Your nose may be congested due to swelling or from the nasal splint. You need to rest in bed with your head raised higher than your chest to reduce bleeding and swelling. For a few days after the surgery, you may also experience slight bleeding and drainage of mucus. Your surgeon may place a “drip pad” under your nose to absorb drainage.

Your surgeon may ask you to avoid strenuous activity, take baths instead of showers, avoid blowing your nose, eat high-fiber foods to avoid constipation, not to do any facial expressions (smiling or laughing), not wearing pull clothing and wear button-downs instead.

For at least several weeks after the surgery, do not rest eyeglasses or sunglasses on your nose to prevent pressure. You should also wear SPF 30 sunscreen when you are outside because too much sun can cause permanent irregular discoloration to your nose. Do not put anything such as ice or cold packs on your nose even though it is swelling as the swelling will go away faster by limiting your dietary sodium.

Nose surgery is known to have around 80% to 90% success rate. Nevertheless, just like any other surgery, it still has possible risks and complications. These risks are bleeding, infection, numbness, permanent nerve damage, and an adverse reaction to the anesthesia. You should call your surgeon immediately if you suspect any of the symptoms. Other possible risks are difficulty breathing through your nose, uneven-looking nose, persisting pain, swelling, and discoloration, scarring, septal perforation, and the need for a second or third surgery.

For an in-depth analysis of the closed rhinoplasty procedure with before and after images, watch this short video.

If you do not want to undergo surgery, or if it is not suitable for you, you can get filler injections, such as Botox, Juvaderm, and Restylane. They can change the shape of your nose and only require a short visit to the doctor. This method is not painful and needs no incisions or stitches.
