The staff were amazing!!! Also the doctor and nurses were fantastic. I couldn't have wished for more caring individuals to look after me. They go the extra mile to try and put me at ease. I feel like I was getting first-class treatment during my stay there. Thanks to the highly qualified doctor and up to date surgical equipment, my surgery went well. Surgery cost is very affordable as well. :)

I understand why this hospital is considered the best in Thailand. Traveled all the way from Australia to get my treatment here after I heard good things about it. Superb staff, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Many of the staff can speak English, so communication is not a problem. I asked many questions and told them my concerns, and they answered patiently and put me at ease. Had to stay for several days after my treatment. The room was super clean, well-designed, and definitely made me feel comfortable. The nurses checked on me every hour or so, and the food was surprisingly great. Though having to stay in a hospital is never a good experience, I would say my time in Bumrungrad was a pleasant one. A bit pricey when compared to other hospitals around the area, but with the quality service and high-level care offered, it was all worth it.

What you need to know about Knee Arthroscopy in Thailand

    Knee Arthroscopy

Knee arthroscopy is a surgical procedure to diagnose and treat problems in the knee joint. It is a minimally invasive procedure mostly performed on people with persistent joint pain, stiffness, damaged cartilage, torn anterior or posterior cruciate ligaments, Knee cap that is out of position, fractured knee bones, and other problems around the knee.

What does a Knee Arthroscopy Procedure Involve?

Before knee arthroscopy, your doctor may give you a local, regional, or general anesthetic. Your surgeon will make a few small incisions in your knee and insert an arthroscope (a small instrument with a tiny camera attached to it). The tiny camera allows your surgeon to identify any problems and if the problem can be fixed with arthroscopy, your surgeon may insert a small surgical tool through the arthroscope to correct the issue.

How Long Should I Stay in Thailand for a Knee Arthroscopy Procedure?

Knee arthroscopy may be performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning you may leave the hospital on the same day. However, you will be required to stay in Thailand for at least 7 days for follow-up hospital checkups with your surgeon where your progress will be monitored continuously.

MyMediTravel currently lists 3 facilities in Thailand offering Knee Arthroscopy procedures - see above for the complete list, along with estimated prices. The price of a Knee Arthroscopy can vary according to each individual’s case and will be determined based on your medical profile and an in-person assessment with the specialist. Try to keep your leg elevated and put ice on your knee for the first few days to reduce pain and swelling. Exercise is an important part of treatment and your surgeon or a physical therapist may teach you the best exercises to strengthen the muscles around your knee. Your surgeon will likely give you specific instructions about the aftercare and ensure to follow the instructions.

Therapy to strengthen your muscles, medications, injections (hyaluronic acid, corticosteroids, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP)), and partial knee replacement surgery can be the alternatives. Discuss with your doctor which one is the best option for your case.
