I understand why this hospital is considered the best in Thailand. Traveled all the way from Australia to get my treatment here after I heard good things about it. Superb staff, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Many of the staff can speak English, so communication is not a problem. I asked many questions and told them my concerns, and they answered patiently and put me at ease. Had to stay for several days after my treatment. The room was super clean, well-designed, and definitely made me feel comfortable. The nurses checked on me every hour or so, and the food was surprisingly great. Though having to stay in a hospital is never a good experience, I would say my time in Bumrungrad was a pleasant one. A bit pricey when compared to other hospitals around the area, but with the quality service and high-level care offered, it was all worth it.

What you need to know about Myringoplasty in Thailand

Myringoplasty is a surgical procedure that is growing in popularity due to the high quality of care and successful outcomes available in Thailand. As a medical expert, it is important to ensure that our patients are as adequately informed as possible when considering any sort of elective surgical procedure. Myringoplasty, also known as a tympanoplasty, is a repair of the tympanic membrane of the middle ear, which is commonly referred to as the eardrum. It is commonly used to treat a hole or tear in the eardrum, which can be caused by infections, minor trauma, or the placement of a ventilation tube. Myringoplasty typically involves the use of a graft material of either temporalis fascia or an artificial membrane, which is placed in the patient’s eardrum. The procedure is common, and at highly-specialised medical centres in Thailand, the Myringoplasty procedure takes around two hours and requires general anaesthesia. After the operation, most patients can go home the same day. The patient should expect to have a recovery time of a few weeks, during which time the ear should be safe from water, and the patient should try to limit their physical activity. Myringoplasty in Thailand offers very encouraging results, and the procedure is done in a safe, high-quality environment. The surgeons performing these procedures are highly-specialised and have great experience in this specialty. In addition, as Thailand is a country renowned for its healthcare and infrastructure, patients undergo the surgery in modern, up-to-date facilities. At the end of the Myringoplasty, the patient should notice an improved hearing, and in most cases, any artificial material used will remain in the ear, providing long-term protection. Furthermore, the success rate of repairs is very good and in experienced hands, the results should be long lasting.
