Evoking my reconstruction and Dr. Marc-David Benjoar is for me synonymous with rebirth. My physical and psychic reconstructions have been linked. As soon as the diagnosis of cancer was made I lost my breast. Have followed heavy treatments and the wait due to the skin refinement caused by radiotherapy. I chose reconstruction by DIEP. After meeting several surgeons a few months ago, a friend advised Dr. Benjoar. From the first interview, I was immediately confident, I was greeted by a very nice secretary (whom I thank again in passing for his constant kindness). The cabinet is very nice and is a practitioner "human" smiling very attentive to your expectations that I met.Dr. Benjoar took the time to explain everything (the good side and the small inconveniences that could happen), he is very clear on what it is possible and reasonable to do, he wanted me to have medical exams before intervention (excluding potential risk of phlebitis) it sounds "normal" but it had not been the case with other surgeons and especially Doc Benjoar gives you time for reflection ... I was able to see him twice before Intervention, because I had questions, it was very reassuring. The day of the intervention, Dr. Benjoar and his medical team were all kind of rare and everything was set up to minimize the pain, it is a point of honor for the doctor. I wrote my experience under this tilte "Bad experience with an aesthetic surgien" on a forum, aufeminin.I added; Before I operated, Dr. Benjoar had warned me (insisted) that we had to remove the polyurethane prostheses under the breasts when I wish to have them removed one day because this type of prosthesis sticks a lot and is difficult to remove. But when I wished, earlier than he had imagined, he changed his mind. He started telling me that he would only take them off if I agreed to do it by the armpits, the same way that was used to put them on. Of course he knew I would say no because for me the most important thing for the operation was my health and not less visible scars. I preferred that he removes them perfectly with all the polyurethane foam!Later, he agreed to do it from below the breasts but this time with fees when he told us it was free before. His change of attitude shocked us. We gave up asking him and we looked elsewhere. To our surprise, all the surgeons told us that they should not be removed by the armpits because, not only is it extremely difficult, but also for medical reasons (it is better to avoid too much reoperation on the same scars normally) I wonder why he insisted on removing them by armpits.I was really lost, sad and desperate before I found another better surgeon that we can trust.
