Glinda Deblois, 22 November 2020

I understand why this hospital is considered the best in Thailand. Traveled all the way from Australia to get my treatment here after I heard good things about it. Superb staff, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Many of the staff can speak English, so communication is not a problem. I asked many questions and told them my concerns, and they answered patiently and put me at ease. Had to stay for several days after my treatment. The room was super clean, well-designed, and definitely made me feel comfortable. The nurses checked on me every hour or so, and the food was surprisingly great. Though having to stay in a hospital is never a good experience, I would say my time in Bumrungrad was a pleasant one. A bit pricey when compared to other hospitals around the area, but with the quality service and high-level care offered, it was all worth it.

What you need to know about Gastrointestinal GI Tract Biopsy in Thailand

A Gastrointestinal (GI) Tract Biopsy is an important procedure for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In Thailand, it is a safe and effective medical procedure with a high success rate. Before a GI Tract Biopsy, the doctor will provide a full medical assessment and ask questions about medical history, current health issues, and potential risk factors. Depending on the individual’s medical history and diagnosis, additional tests or examinations may be necessary before proceeding with the biopsy. This will ensure maximum safety and accuracy of the results. The GI Tract Biopsy itself takes place in the hospital under the supervision of medical professionals. Upon arrival, the patient should have their vital signs checked and the doctor will generally ask questions about the patient’s symptoms, medication dosage, and lifestyle habits. Then, a sedative may be administered to ensure the patient is comfortable during the procedure. The GI Tract Biopsy requires the doctor taking a small sample of the patient’s tissue from the gastrointestinal tract. This tissue is then sent to a laboratory for analysis. Results of the biopsy are generally available within a week and the doctor will discuss what the results mean for the patient and their future treatment plan. In Thailand, all doctors performing the GI Tract Biopsy must adhere to the highest international standards of medical ethics. This means that all medical professionals involved will do everything possible to provide the best care and ensure the patient’s comfort and safety. If you are considering a GI Tract Biopsy in Thailand, speak to your doctor. They will be able to provide further information and advice on next steps and the best possible outcome.

The procedure carries certain health risks, with the most common being minor bleeding and infection. Other complications include pain, swelling, bruising, and occasional allergic reactions, which may require treatment or hospitalization. In rare occasions, the procedure can cause a hole (perforation) in the wall of the gastrointestinal tract, requiring surgical repair. However, it is best to confirm the actual cost before scheduling the biopsy.
