William Bruno, MD Plastic Surgery

Denise Lopez, 13 July 2020

My experience with Dr. Bruno and his team has been nothing but good! Prior to choosing Dr.Bruno for my breast augmentation, I had a consultation with another doctor. She stated that my type of BA would require a complex procedure that would increase the price of my BA significantly. After doing my research and posting on RealSelf, I felt that I needed a second opinion because what she said I had was not confirmed by other doctors. It left me feeling she was being dishonest about what I needed just to hike up the cost of the surgery. Dr. Bruno had been referred to me by a friend that also had a BA so I decided to book a consultation with him and I am sooooo glad I did. I've had such a pleasant experience with his team since the first time I reached out to them. Joselle has always been really sweet and accommodating. I explained to her that I would like to see Dr. Bruno as soon as possible because I had only a few days to decide whether I would go with the other surgeon (the other surgeon's quote was only good for a few days because of a promotion they had). She gave me an appointment slot that worked for me, later she ended up calling me the next day to let me know that there was an appointment that was a couple days earlier than my original appointment. I really appreciated it that as I had very limited time to make up my mind. The day of my consultation came and after meeting with Dr. Bruno, it was clear to me that I would be going with him for my BA. He explained the procedure in great detail and answered of all my questions honestly. It was completely different experience than my consultation with the other surgeon who was pushy and seemed annoyed that I had tons of questions. He and his team made me feel very comfortable and I never felt pressured by them, as I did with the other surgeon I consulted. Both Marisol and Joselle were just as helpful with answering all my questions as Dr. Bruno. Throughout the entire BA journey, his staff would call me to remind me of appointments as well as check up on me once I had the procedure. They genuinely care about their patients. As far as the results go, I am only three weeks out from surgery but I already love what I am seeing and can't wait for my final result as I really admire Dr. Bruno's work from the before and after pictures I have seen of other patients. I highly recommend Dr. Bruno and his team! If I ever decide to have other procedures, I will definitely be returning to him.THANK YOU!

I only went to Dr. Zarrabi for my consultation and haven't yet had my surgery but I had one of the best experiences I've ever had with a doctor. He was patient, kind, thorough. He answered every question I had and never rushed me once. He went through insurance possibilities with me and explained all of my options at length. I hope I can schedule my surgery with him soon.

Vanessa Marie, 23 September 2020

I don't know where to start or how to say thank you to Dr. Schwartz and his amazing staff for all their support and care on my past visit. For as long as I can remember, I've had one big insecurity that I decided I would just learn to deal with because of my fear to go under the knife. I'd figured I would just avoid photos or just wear a filter in them...however, I met with Dr. Schwartz and he assured me he could fix my issue without surgery. I had a thorough consultation with him and next thing you know I was signed up for my appointment to have injectables for the first time in my 33 years. I always said when I felt ready to have my "pick me up" I was going to knock on a doctors door whose work and credentials were in line. Dr. Schwartz not only took care of all my issues but he delivered me my dream nose...I honestly can not stop looking at myself in the mirror. It's honestly so perfectly done and I just can't put into words what a confidence boost this has done for me...especially in my line of work. I thank you Dr. Schwartz...for your skill and sweet nature during my time spent with you. To your amazing staff...thank you for all your kind words...it really meant a lot to me! I found a place where I will be going to have all my beauty needs met from here on out:) I want to encourage anyone curious about anything that has been burdensome to you...to have a consult with Dr. Schwartz...I'm so glad I did.

Kristen Larkin, 20 September 2020

I traveled from Colorado to see Dr. Hubbard for a breast augmentation and all I can say is WOW!!!! Not only is he an exceptionally skilled surgeon, he has the best bedside manner of any doctor around. He and his staff (Ms. Rheanna and the rest of the ladies :)) immediately made me feel at ease, from the initial consult to the aftercare process which I am still in. I woke up the next day with minimal pain and have absolutely zero discomfort as we speak...and it's only four days later!! Dr. Hubbard and his staff are the consummate professionals and will immediately make you feel like family...how many other doctors and their staff can you say that about? I know for 100% certainty I will only be seeing Dr. Hubbard for all medical procedures, regardless of where I live!!

Thomas Mustoe - Samy Sinno TLKM Plastic Surgery

dana brandt, 09 September 2020

Dr Mustoe has an unbelievable bedside manner. My son had an extreme deviated septum and unable to breathe out of his left nostril and additionally the nose was not straight. Our end goal was for him to breathe! Dr. Mustoe said he would get it as straight as he could and may not be perfect. After one month my son is able to breathe and his nose, while not perfectly straight, still looks like him and doesn't look like a 'done' nose. I would highly recommend Dr. Mustoe and his team.

Mayra Tang, 08 March 2020

Dr Mussat is a wonderful surgeon. I consulted with her in her downtown office. Upon entering her office her receptionist was welcoming and courteous. During my consultation Dr Mussat sat with me and gave me a presentation with information about my procedure. I felt that she was very thorough with her explanation. I was able to see actual footage of how she performs the procedure. This was impressive and she really took her time with me. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that I fit the criteria for having this procedure as a medical necessity which turned out to be a covered benefit under my BCBS plan. I have since had my surgery and I’m so happy with the outcome. The only regret I have is that I didn’t have this sooner. I’m so grateful to Dr Mussat and this has been truly a blessing for me.

What you need to know about Liposuction in United States

Liposuction is the number one treatment for the removal of stubborn fat cells, and liposculpture is the shaping of the skin back to its desired shape. Both are done in conjunction with one another at the same time. Most areas can be treated. Traditionally the most popular areas are the stomach/abdomen, chin and neck, love handles, arms, and inner and outer thighs. Becoming more popular are the knees, calves and ankles, all with very successful results.

Liposuction should not be viewed as a quick fix for individuals who are significantly overweight. The procedure works best for those who have already lost some weight themselves and are close to their ideal weight but need help tackling stubborn areas of fat in problem areas.

MyMediTravel currently lists 37 facilities in United States offering Liposuction procedures - see above for the complete list, along with estimated prices. The price of a Liposuction can vary according to each individual’s case and will be determined based on photos and an in-person assessment with the specialist. Unwanted fats are very hard to get rid of especially if you are not a fan of exercise or diet. Liposuction, also known as Lipoplasty, liposculpture suction, lipectomy or simply lipo” is the leading fat treatment procedure to remove stubborn fat cells. It basically eliminates unwanted fats by suctioning it away.

This type of procedure permanently removes fat cells and enhances the shape of your body. A plastic or dermatologic surgeon usually performs this type of procedure on the patient’s: belly, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, back or face to improve their shape. Furthermore, liposuction can also be done together with other plastic surgeries such as facelifts, breast reductions, and tummy tucks.

This treatment procedure is particularly used for aesthetic, mainly to improve a person’s appearance. In most cases, maintaining and achieving such positive results will depend on your lifestyle. You will be required to have a healthy lifestyle, with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and a healthy sleep schedule.

To Consider

Lipo definitely improves the body’s contours; this dramatically impacts a person’s body image and most importantly, a person’s self-esteem.

It is very important to understand that a Liposuction procedure doesn’t necessarily equate to an overall weight-loss method or an alternative of such. Furthermore, this treatment procedure does not also eliminate cellulite, dimples and stretch marks.

Your overall fat distribution is actually determined by your diet and heredity. If you are an overweight individual, you are most likely to lose a lot of weight by undergoing extensive diet and exercise or through bariatric procedures like gastric bypass surgery.

You are a good candidate for the procedure if you have excessive body fat in certain areas of your body but otherwise have stable body weight. Note that Lipo is for people of normal weight but have areas of stubborn fat. It is also for people whose skin is elastic and can contract after the fat cells have been removed. For people who lack skin elasticity, you may end up with a loose- looking skin after the procedure.

Furthermore, you have to be over 18 years old and in good health before undergoing the procedure. People who have circulation or blood flow problems like diabetes, coronary artery disease, and a weakened immune system are not advised to undergo the treatment.

What does a Liposuction Procedure Involve?

Before you have the treatment, a series of tests are required to ensure if you are fit for the surgery. You will also need to sign a consent form to confirm that you are fully aware of the risks, benefits and possible alternatives to the procedure.

You will likely be put under using general anesthesia, which can last for 1 to 4 hours. An epidural can also be used for procedures on the lower part of the body, although this is becoming increasingly unpopular now. Alternatively, you may be given local anesthesia if the procedure will be on small areas of your body. You may be asked to stand up during the procedure to ensure proper fat removal, but you will not feel any pain.

Tiny incisions will be made in the areas of interest through which a cannula can fit. This thin tube-like device is connected to a vacuum, capable of suctioning the fat from within your body. There are a few common techniques used, including Laser-Assisted or SmartLipo, UAL (Ultrasound-Assisted Lipo) or the most popular technique, Tumescent Lipo - this involves the pre-injection of a saline solution to help separate the fat from the blood, so less blood is removed. You'll discuss the best option with your surgeon before confirming what type of Liposuction is best for you.

How Long Should I Stay in United States for a Liposuction Procedure?

Generally, patients who have received general anesthesia will be required to spend the night in the hospital (in-patient). Patients, who have had local anesthesia, may be able to leave the hospital on the same day.

After the operation, you will have to wear support bandages (support corset, bandages or elasticated support) whilst healing. Expect some pain, swelling and bruising during the following days and weeks. Your surgeon will prescribe medication to help control your pain and antibiotics to reduce the risk of infection. Furthermore, your stitches may be removed during your follow-up appointment with your surgeon. You should expect to stay in United States for about a week post-op to allow for the initial recovery and check-up appointments, which will include the removal of stitches.

What's the Recovery Time for Liposuction Procedures?

Numbness in the specific area of your body where the fat was removed is to be expected for the first couple of weeks, usually, this will improve after 6 to 8 weeks. You may also need to wait a few days before going back to work. As for your normal activities, especially exercise, you may have to wait a few weeks before resuming.

Overall, the recovery time may vary from patient to patient. In most cases, patients can return to light activities within 2 to 3 days and are also able to go back to work after two weeks. As for the results, you may see visible results after 3 to 4 weeks, however, it can take several months before you see the final outcome.

What sort of Aftercare is Required for Liposuction Procedures in United States?

Just like any other cosmetic surgery, following your surgeon’s aftercare instructions is vital in achieving and maintaining the best results. If the procedure was done above your waistline, you may be advised to sleep propped on pillows to have elevation on the specific area. This helps drain the fluids and prevent them from pooling. Furthermore, applying cold compress on a certain area where the procedure was performed is highly recommended, this will reduce inflammation and bruising especially during the first few days.

What's the Success Rate of Liposuction Procedures in United States?

Liposuction remains one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries with a success rate of 85%, offering patients the enhanced body shape they've been craving. However, just like any other surgeries, it also comes with possible risks. Complications vary and are dependent on the procedure is as well as your surgeon’s skills. Possible risks and complications include:

  • Severe bruising
  • Inflammation
  • Blood clot forms in veins, causing inflammation and complications (Thrombophlebitis)
  • Kidney or Heart problems - changes in the body's fluid levels during the procedure may cause kidney or heart problems.
  • Pulmonary embolism - when fat gets into your blood vessels and travels to your lungs, eventually, blocking your lungs.

Are there Alternatives to Liposuction Procedures in United States?

CoolSculpting – is a fat freezing liposuction alternative. This is more suited to people who are close to their target weight but still have unwanted pockets of fat. Coolsculpting is a fat-freezing procedure that crystalizes your fat cells until they break apart painlessly.

Ultrashape - a non-invasive procedure that doesn’t require the need for anesthesia. This treatment procedure will make use of a body sculpting device that vaporizes fat cells within the targeted area with waves of ultrasound energy. Fat cells are permanently flushed out of your body, giving you a more natural-looking fat loss.

Liposuction v's Vaser Liposuction

Like traditional liposuction, the purpose of Vaser liposuction is to change the contours and shape of the body by removing persistent fat deposits. The word Vaser is actually an acronym for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. This specialized ultrasound technology breaks down the fatty tissues using ultrasonic frequency waves, which is why it's often referred to as Ultrasonic Liposuction or Ultrasound Liposuction.

Liposuction v's CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is the new non-invasive, freezing method used to also change the body contours and shape, however, this method does not require the use of a cannula so there is no damage to the overlying skin. Instead, it involves the controlled application of cooling localized fat deposits, which are then expelled from the body through the kidneys.
