Everything you'll need to know about Buttock Liposuction in Thailand

What is the cost of Buttock Liposuction in Thailand?

In Thailand, the price of a Buttock Liposuction is affected by a range of factors, contributing to the total cost. The complexity of the operation is one such factor; it may escalate based on the distinct regions being treated and the quantity of fat being extracted. Also, costs associated with anesthesia, surgical facilities, and varied degrees of aftercare can be influential.

However, the surgeon's skills and standing can notably affect the price. We strongly advise extensive examination of the surgeon's qualifications and a diligent assessment of the clinic's setup to ensure a gratifying result.

What does a Buttock Liposuction Procedure Involve?

There are several liposuction techniques that can be used to treat the buttocks. The most common technique is tumescent liposuction. With the tumescent technique, your surgeon will inject a solution containing a local anesthetic and drug into the targeted areas of the buttocks. This solution fills the fatty layer of the skin, causing it to swell and become firmer. This allows your surgeon to have better control when contouring your buttocks. The solution also causes your blood vessels to shrink temporarily, which reduces blood loss during the procedure, as well as bruising, swelling, and pain after the procedure.

After injecting the solution, your surgeon will proceed with the fat removal. Your surgeon will strive to create symmetry and avoid excessive fat removal. They will also ensure to achieve a smooth result. To do this, they will create several tiny incisions instead of just one or two incisions in the targeted area. Since the buttock is a rounded surface, it can be difficult to achieve a smooth result by using a large cannula. Large cannulas can create bumpy results. Therefore, microcannulas (usually less than 33 mm in diameter) are used during buttocks liposuction.

The microcannula is inserted through the tiny incisions into the fatty layer of the buttocks. This microcannula is connected to a vacuum-like machine that will suction the fat. Using back and forth movements, the excess fat from your buttocks is sucked through the cannula into a sterile collection system. One side of the buttock is treated first until your surgeon achieve your desired degree of reduction. Then, the other is treated until it is the mirror image of the first side. Not only your surgeon will eliminate the outer fat layer of your buttocks, but they will also sculpt it into an aesthetically pleasing, round shape with great muscle definition.

Once your surgeon is done, they will close the incision with stitches and apply surgical dressing and a compression garment. You will then be taken to a recovery room and stay there for around one to two hours before being discharged. In the recovery room, your medical staff will make sure that you are comfortable and that you can eat, drink, and walk around with no problem.

What Criteria makes you suitable for *Treatment Procedure*?

Not everyone is an ideal candidate for this procedure. A good candidate for buttocks liposuction should meet the following criteria:

  • You have stubborn fat in the buttocks that cannot be eliminated even after diet and exercise.
  • You are generally healthy and within 30% of your ideal weight. It is important to remember that buttocks liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure but a body sculpting procedure.
  • You have moderate skin laxity. While taking fat out of the buttocks will not leave you with sagging skin, you need to moderate skin laxity. If your skin just sags and does not cling to your new shape following buttocks liposuction, the result may not be satisfactory. In the case of excessively lax skin, your surgeon may recommend another procedure, such as a tummy tuck, to tighten up the skin.
  • You have realistic expectations about the outcome.
  • You are not currently pregnant or breast-feeding, and you do not have allergies to certain anesthetics.

How Long Should I Stay in Thailand for a Buttock Liposuction Procedure?

After buttocks liposuction, you usually can leave the hospital or clinic on the same day. In some cases, however, you may need to stay overnight, especially if general anesthesia is used. After you are discharged from the hospital, you should not leave Thailand right away.

Plan to stay at least a week in Thailand because you need to allow your body to recover first before traveling a long distance. You may also need to attend follow-up checkups where your surgeon checks your healing and overall condition

What's the Recovery Time for Buttock Liposuction Procedures in Thailand?

Liposuction in the buttocks generally has the same recovery time as liposuction in other parts of your body. Since the local anesthetic injected into the fatty tissue lasts for around 24 hours after your surgery, you will not feel any pain during this period. Once the local anesthetic wears off, you may experience some discomfort. Your surgeon will prescribe pain medication to manage the pain.

The recovery time can be different for every patient. In general, you should be able to return to most of your regular routine within a week or so. You may also be allowed to return to work within a week if your job does not involve vigorous physical labor. You must avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for around six weeks to avoid complications. You can see the results of your buttock liposuction in about a month

What sort of Aftercare is Required for Buttock Liposuction Procedures in Thailand?

Your surgeon will give you detailed aftercare instruction, which may include:

  • It is encouraged that you walk immediately after the procedure to promote blood flow and enhance healing.
  • Wear the compression garment placed by your surgeon after the surgery for at least two weeks. This compression garment must always remain on. It is used to control swelling and ensure that your skin heals tightly to your new shape.
  • Rest and sleep on your stomach until you are told otherwise.
  • Your surgeon will prescribe you medications. Make sure to take it as directed.

The results of buttocks liposuction are long-lasting, but you must maintain it. Make sure you follow a healthy lifestyle by eating a well-balanced diet and exercise regularly

What's the Success Rate of Buttock Liposuction Procedures in Thailand?

Liposuction has been around for many years, and it is one of the safest and most effective bodies sculpting procedures. Most patients who had the procedure are satisfied with their results.

Before you undergo buttocks liposuction, your buttocks may have some excess fat that makes them look out of proportion from the rest of your body. You may also find it hard to fit into tight jeans. After buttocks liposuction, the shape and size of your buttocks should be improved. The procedure should reduce the size and bulk while also provide nice smoothness and symmetry.

Are there Alternatives to Buttock Liposuction Procedures in Thailand?

If you are not an ideal candidate for buttocks liposuction or you simply do not want to undergo surgery, you can choose CoolSculpting as an alternative. Unlike liposuction, CoolSculpting is non-invasive, meaning no incisions and anesthesia is involved

What Should You Expect Before and After the Procedure

Before the actual buttock liposuction, you will have an initial consultation with your surgeon in Thailand. You can do this consultation virtually or in person. During this consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your personal buttocks liposuction needs and expectations. Make sure to tell your surgeon about any specific areas of your buttocks where your feel particularly unhappy about. You should also bring your medical records, including any serious medical conditions you have suffered, any surgeries you had, and any medications or herbal supplements you have been taking for your surgeon to check. Make sure to prepare a list of questions so you will not miss anything out.

Your surgeon may give you pre-operative instructions. One to two weeks before surgery, you should:

  • Avoid drinking alcohol as it thins your blood, increasing your chances of bruising and prolonging healing.
  • Drink plenty of water to hydrate and nourish your body.
  • Do not smoke since nicotine increases the likelihood of post-surgical complications and prolong your healing.
  • Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen because they interfere with your body’s normal blood clotting ability.
  • Avoid herbal supplements, such as green tea extract, ginkgo Biloba, and ginseng because they can interact negatively with anesthesia.

The night before the surgery, you should bathe and wash your hair as you need to avoid getting your bandages wet for a few days following your buttocks liposuction. You should also get a good night’s sleep, and you may need to stop eating and drinking eight hours before your surgery.

On the day of the surgery, make sure to wear loose and comfortable clothing. Before your surgeon starts the buttocks liposuction, they will mark the treatment area and possibly take some photos. These photos can be used to compare the results of buttocks liposuction (before and after photos).

Your surgeon will begin your buttocks liposuction procedure by administering anesthesia. In most cases, local anesthesia is used. With this type of anesthesia, you will stay awake, but the treatment area will be numbed. You may also be given a sedative, which will help you feel relaxed and comfortable through the duration of the procedure. In some cases, general anesthesia will be used instead so that you will be asleep and unaware of anything throughout the surgery.

What are Potential Risks of Buttock Liposuction?

Like all surgeries, however, buttocks liposuction has some side effects and risks. These are typically minor and rare, but you need to be aware of them before deciding to undergo the procedure. The most common complications and side effects of buttocks liposuction are:

  • Infections
  • Numbness
  • Skin irregularity
  • Loose skin
  • Lumpiness

In most cases, they can be easily corrected by your surgeon if they do occur. Make sure you choose a board-certified surgeon who has extensive experience and skills in buttocks liposuction to achieve the best results and avoid complications

Considering a trip to Thailand

Buttock Liposuction in and around Thailand

About Thailand

Thailand is consistently voted one of the most popular travel destinations in the world, leading the way for Asian countries with over 60 state-of-the-art JCI-accredited facilities. The country is renowned for its tropical beaches, floating markets, stunning royal palaces, and Buddhist temples. The vibrant capital, Bangkok, blends tradition and modernity with its ultramodern cityscape featuring brand-new high-rise condominiums side-by-side with quiet, serene canalside communities. As per the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, and Pattaya are the most sought-after tourist spots outside Bangkok, each boasting excellent yacht chartering opportunities.

Each year, Thailand opens its doors to hundreds of thousands of medical tourists. These individuals traverse the globe to receive treatment, with a significant number hailing from the local SE Asia region, Australia, the United States, and the Middle East. Recently, there has been an upsurge in the number of visitors coming in from China for medical purposes.

The reasons for Thailand's popularity as a medical tourism destination are its outstanding private healthcare system, attractive tropical climate, and competitive pricing. In the list of top medical tourism destinations worldwide, Thailand currently holds the third position. The procedures that attract most patients are cosmetic surgeries, including breast augmentations, gender reassignment surgery, and CoolSculpting, along with cardiac surgery, orthopedics, and urology.

Popular Parts of Thailand

Thailand, with a population of just under 70 million people spread over an area of around 500,000 square kilometers, has several regions and cities that are widely popular with both natives and tourists. Offering a diverse blend of urban and rural experiences, beach life and inland natural beauty, each part of Thailand offers a unique angle into the rich and complex Thai culture.

Arguably the most popular area of Thailand is the capital city, Bangkok. Consistently ranked as one of the most visited cities in the world, Bangkok is an ever-buzzing urban hub with its busy streets, modern lifestyle, magnificent temples and opulent palace, alongside a pulsating nightlife. This city is typically the entry gateway for a vast majority of the 30 million tourists who visit Thailand each year. Known for its glimmering cityscape and vibrant food scene, Bangkok is indeed a compulsory stop in every traveler's itinerary.

While Bangkok is the country's urban heart, there's more to Thailand than just its capital. Among the other popular regions are the beachside island paradise of Phuket and Koh Samui, the city of Pattaya, and Hua Hin - each of them a haven for beach lovers and anyone seeking a laid-back vibe away from bustling city life. However, for those who prefer the call of the inland and a dash of adventure, Chiang Mai, nestled in the lush jungles of northern Thailand offers a refreshing and unique proposition with its derivative local culture, serene temples and interaction with native wildlife.

Weather and Climate in Thailand

Known for its truly tropical climate and scorching temperatures, Thailand, in general, is hot and humid all year round. The coastal locations do benefit from the cooling sea breeze, a luxury urban Bangkok is denied. Average temperatures range from 28°C (82°F) up to 35°C (95°F). However, during the Hot Season (March to June), temperatures can top 40°C (104°F).

The infamous Rainy Season tends to start in July and continue through to October; during this time expect heavy rainfall, often amounting to flooding in some areas. It will remain warm to hot but humidity levels will rise and the mosquitos will come out to play!

November to February is often referred to as the Cool Season when less rain is expected and the temperatures tend not to rise above 35°C (95°F).

From a tourist perspective; the High Season lasts from November to March and the Low Season from April to October. But be aware of the Shoulder Seasons of April to June and September to October, when Thailand is less impacted by the Rainy Season and less busy with tourists – these can be the ideal times to visit.

In a nutshell, Thailand is a Shorts and T-shirt Country, you’re never really going to be cold, so pack light; shorts, t-shirts, vests, skirts, singlets, and light dresses. Maybe pack jeans and shoes if you’re planning on going to a swanky roof-top bar in Bangkok or to a temple where flip-flops are not acceptable.

Don’t forget mosquito spray as the little pests can get everywhere; big ones and little ones! Always protect against the sun; with high factor sunscreen and UV-protective sunglasses. The usual medications found at home should be available in most pharmacies.

Getting around in Thailand

With the Suvarnabhumi International Airport being serviced by some of the world’s major airlines, tourists can fly into Thailand from almost anywhere in the world, sometimes with a connection along the way. All the popular regions have their own international airports, with the exception of Pattaya, which is just a 90-minute taxi ride from Bangkok. However, arrival destinations are slightly limited outside of Bangkok, but the likes of Emirates and Qatar Airways will fly into Phuket International Airport. The rest, mostly fly in from local countries on budget airlines, including Scoot, SilkAir, AirAsia, and Lion Air to name a few.

For domestic flights, the airports are nicely linked in Thailand with flights from as little as $45 USD one way. There are several budget airlines servicing these routes, including Thai Lion Air, AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, and Thai Smile.

The train allows for even cheaper travel within Thailand and is far more comfortable than spending hours sitting on a bus. Bangkok has the BTS, or Skytrain, which allows for fast transfer from the airport into the city. Given the traffic in central Bangkok, the BTS offers a great alternative to being stuck in traffic jams.

Taxis are great, however, be sure to confirm the price before you begin your journey or better still, insist the ride goes on the meter – that is how you guarantee the cheapest and fairest price. But expect traffic in the city and any built-up areas.

Tourist Visas in Thailand

Before you travel to Thailand, it is important to stay updated with the latest visa requirements. While a number of countries are eligible for visa-free entry, the rules can sometimes shift, making it essential to verify before you travel.

If you are travelling from countries like the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea can enjoy a stay of up to 30 days in Thailand without needing a visa. On the other hand, if you are visiting from China, India, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan, you will be granted the facility of a visa on arrival.

To get a visa on arrival here are the requirements:
1. You need to have a valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
2: You would need to show proof of a round-trip ticket within 30 days and confirmation of your accommodation for the first night in Thailand.
3. You need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds for your visit, which is 10,000 THB per person or 20,000 THB per family.

Don't forget to carry a recent passport-sized photograph. The fee for a visa on arrival is 2,000 THB, and you can pay it via cash or credit card.
